I really wanted one of those little flatbed trucks for around (very small) town hauling until I found California basically makes it impossible to register them for on-road use. I would only be on roads that top out at 35 mph speed limits but noooo, those are “unsafe”.

I want a short range EV converted classic VW Beetle, just for around town toodling. Not some Tesla swap monstrosity but a small, lightweight single axle drivetrain and as little extra modernization as possible. Just enough added safety stuff under the skin but without any visible  electronic doodads/interior crap. 2k

Why does he always look like he’s competing for “Most Punchable Face”.

I envisioned something more like an ekranoplan, don’t need much altitude if you’re sampling the underlying substrate.

Being a sandwich I’m not familiar with, the first thing that jumps to mind is two slices of apple pie sandwiching a large chunk of Vermont extra sharp white cheddar. WTF and I’m not even high...

Best served with oat “milk”

I’m not a big cereal person, but I tried their 4 pack variety set recently. My primary motivation was to see if it was nominally ok for not spiking my blood sugar, with type 2 diabetes.

Since very few remakes seem to find that originality, I was assuming this would not either. Maybe I will be wrong.

Good for catching the lacto-fermentation bug! There are so many wonderful uses/preparations. Since you like the chili heat might I suggest getting your hands into homemade kimchi some time.

Do you think they’ll have a fresh take on the source material, or mimic the tone of the original movie? I’m guessing the latter and not here for it, but if the former and they actually come up with something that feels independent from the old movie I’d give it a viewing.

Both xanthan and guar gum are very useful in many home applications, as well as lecithin. None of them are scary “additives”.

Not every old movie needs a remake, in fact MOST should not be remade. The story/plot is virtually meaningless to the average viewer but it’s iconic for the portrayal or interpretation of the ethos of American culture at the time. That and being a vehicle specifically for Fonda.

Fucking California, I swear. You probably wouldn’t believe recently seeing $11 a dozen eggs either.

These so-called spicy ready to eat foods, particularly the current ghost pepper hype are mostly pointless to me. They almost always lack the fruity nuanced flavor that should come with a good chinense family pepper and usually aren’t anywhere what I consider hot. That’s what hot sauces and ground chili pepper are for,

Recession proof? Have you checked the price increases for Campbell’s ready to eat soups over the last couple of years? $5-6 not on sale around me for Campbell’s Chunky or Progresso soups that feels like a $2-3 hike from just a couple years ago.
