Is it really an “international” rivalry if it’s with a territory of our own country?

At E3 one year I sat at a bar reading the Mass Effect novel (the first one) that I’d gotten from the Microsoft booth. A guy stopped at the bar and asked me what I thought of it.

If Pebble, one of Kickstarter’s biggest success stories, can fail so spectacularly then why should a consumer put trust in any of the smaller crowdfunding campaigns out there?
