For a couple of years now, come every June I do commentary for 24 LeMans on Eurosport TV, so I am quite anal with data (TV viewers are the worst when you forget if it was 3.6 or 3.7, my Twitter usually explodes).

Hate to break it to you, but Audi has never used a 3.6 litre engine nor a V8 in any of the Diesel LMP1 cars.

The voiceover script is bordering with self-pleasuring by the author. Also, while the swaps are nicely executed, the mapping of both engines is unacceptable. I had a handful of upgraded diesels in my life and the only time when a car has emitted that much of a black smoke was when it was broken. Both engines are not

Yeah, in a four-wheel drive with a viscous coupling like Subaru, in this very situation it means the torque will be transferred so the car actually understeers less.

LOL. Actually I never fitted one to any of her cars, as I was far more comfortable driving a stock Evo (and wasn’t allowed to her Subarus all that much).

She’s driving her 3rd 3-series estate auto, for God’s sake. You’d have to struggle with teaching her performance driving all over again.

She was doing about 45 mph on a slippery dirt/gravel road. Actually we were there for semi-legal scouting before Rally Poland 2005 or was it 2006. Good times.

She was actually OK, thank you. The Subaru was robust enough to properly absorb and disperse the energy of the impact, so it ended up with a fractured rib and quite a lot of bruises from the belt/airbag combo. It was 10 years ago, so as far as I can tell, there are no permanent signs of any injuries ;)
