I run into students like this all. The. Damn. Time.

They’re generally incapable of recognizing their own biases or propensity for fallacies, preferring to see everyone who disagrees with them as lacking in enlightenment.

tbh both sides do this - when the country is as polarized as it is, you’re not going to be changing many minds, regardless of if you’re on the Right or the Left.

Its always been like this. Unless we’re in a constant state of war, we focus on ourselves because there are a ton of domestic issues we haven’t addressed in decades. Quite frankly, I prefer this type of arguing over ignoring social issues.

Yep. That’s the funny part. Emotion and logic are two parts of a discussion/argument. To insist that one needs must be adhered to and that the other should be outright rejected is fencepost dumb.
