I’ve done this in mobile games. Shit is bad. You get stubborn and think “I’ll get it in the next one!” You stop thinking about money as money - you’d never spend that much on X but you’re already in the hole so you keep going. The psychology is wild and effective on people like me - who, unlike the uber rich that can

I miss the persistent dread of the Silent Hill games. It was never in-your-face. It just sort of crept up on you, until you realized how utterly terrified you were, and had to put the game down for a while. Silent Hill 2 and 3 were pivotal, emotional experiences for me, stumbled upon in high school. Half the reason I

I think, unfortunately, wielding that sort of power attracts a certain type of person - and also has a tendency to corrupt. There’s probably a reason that pretty much every piece of non-propagandized cop fiction features a good cop/bad cop storyline. Unfortunately, in reality, it seems the bad cops are far more

Ughhh. If it turns out to be staged, the right wing is gonna have a field day with this. From the start they’ve been claiming “HOAX” en masse (which I still believe is a fucking disgusting and telling first reaction to an incident like this). But damn. That would just be all sorts of not great.

Nepotism, apparently, considering who his father is.

My dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer about five years ago now and my parents chose to go the watchful waiting account, going in for PSA count checkups every so often. It seems to have worsened finally and they’re suggesting one of the two major routes (radiation in the most unpleasant of places, or surgery - both

Oh man. I remember those fancy planes. And those weird ads. Golly, I haven’t flown anything but Alaska in years.

Damn. That is hugely disappointing. Hot Take: The original Chucky movies are the best long-running horror series of its kind (likely largely because the original writer/director has pretty much helmed all the movies, so they’ve stayed consistent with what they are). I mean, the whole point of Chucky is his twisted

I largely do this as well, because - as they say - hell is other people.

idk I was enjoying some of her subtle yet dead/depressed facial emotions while watching as much as I could stand at the gym tonight.

Yeahh I’m not super pumped on the whole “Let’s continually shade this rising POC actor who by all accounts seems like a really great guy for this white director’s scummery (who was fired from the project and was known to have clashed with said actor)“ angle that BuzzFeed and Jez are riding.

I’m so excited for Sunless Skies - Sunless Seas is probably my favorite game of all-time, and I backed this one heavily. Going to save it for myself as a treat at some point though, where I need that deep-dive of cozy immersion. This weekend I need to do a bunch of real life stuff, so I’ll prob just be playing mobile

lol. (sad lol?)

Right? If they’re not throwing tantrums about something, are they even really gamers?

“I honestly thought I might be murdered so crazy was the killer stuff back then.”

Fair - probably not enough for investigative journalism, but I think it could make an interesting retrospective.

I am literally covered in cat scars from a life time of cat bites and scratches and somehow still alive.

Jesus. Just did. Everyone’s screaming “HOAX” or laughing about it. Anyone that can read this story and feel anything except unbridled rage is absolute trash. The right wing cannot be fixed.

Gosh, same, to all of this. I actually managed to get a refund for the money spent on Fortnite, right around the time they were refunding Paragon purchases, which was a relief. Still, the way they handled everything just doesn’t sit right with me, and it feels like the wrong thing is being rewarded with how successful

Right? It was just a greedy model. To get the best class at the time (Urban Assault if I remember correctly) which was Mythic tier, you could spend thousands of dollars and still not get it. That is straight-up mobile garbage “F2P” mechanics. I played it heavily for about half a year and got sick of the devs entirely
