I didn't even think of it as "common knowledge," more like instinct. I've never actually thought about it but I loathe driving next to trucks and pass them as fast as I can!

My dad got me this for Christmas last year, in red. Best appliance EVER. I bake so much more now.

They are my daughter's version of friendship pins! Ahhh I miss those.

That is awesome! Tell your mom she rocks!

That was written wrong. The suit itself states that the samples were taken by the coroner's office.

I've always liked it too, but then again I'm not there drinking later at night when I suspect the servers have to put up with a lot of B.S.

There's a big difference between doing something questionable twenty years ago, and then holding public office, and (allegedly) smoking an illegal drug WHILE in office.

You sound like me. I was 34 as well. Went off the pill and BAM! Pregnancy. After one try. I miscarried that one, and two weeks later I came home drunk and told hubby we were going to try again. BAM! She's six and beautiful. :-) I count my blessings, I know it's not that easy for a lot of people.

I'm all for live and let live, but I'm tired of these completely 0utside-of-the-norm "practices" with no proven benefits. It's just a pointless game of one-upmanship. That's the last thing we need as mothers—one more thing on the list of life where we fail because we're not doing it right.

Yours wouldn't be an unintended pregnancy. Would you be shocked, SHOCKED to find yourself pregnant after abandoning birth control? You're really just not in "desperately trying" mode. (That said, good luck!)

Many many years ago, I worked with a man who was 19 or 20. He had one child with his girlfriend and another on the way. He did not seem happy about the second one AT ALL. I know better now than to comment in any way, but back then...I said, "You do know there's a way to prevent that, right?"

Congrats! I loved my brief stint on match.com, I had loads of fun. I quit Match after meeting my now-husband at work. But both of my brothers met and married women they met online (one in a Yahoo! chat room, one on Match) and they have super-solid relationships. I'll stand over to the right. :-)

That's a good question. I don't go to chains myself (I was raised on Happy Joe's, and the nearest one is hundreds of miles away, no other chains for me!). A quick google search says PH is 16 inches and I think the pizzeria larges are 18.

I'm in Queens. My nearest pizzeria, two blocks away, sells a large four-topping pizza for $23. My nearest Pizza Hut sells a large Super Supreme with 11 topping for $16. So price is probably some of it.

Ha, I'm the opposite—I'm a huge Dylan fan and had no idea that Garth Brooks ever covered it. Not sure if Dylan is your thing, but that whole album (Time Out of Mind) is terrific.

Sign up for the DOE emails NOW. I missed the GAT deadline when she was going into kindergarten. She finally took this past January and missed the cutoff by 2 points which was disappointing—we'll try again this year, the last year she can take it, but the idea of pulling her away from a school she's been in for 3.5

Very true, very true. I know it's for life. :-)

It's Redeemer Lutheran in Glendale. I probably shouldn't get that specific about myself on Jezebel but I'll go ahead and take a chance. I'm a former Catholic and my husband is a Jew, so religion was not a deciding factor in our decision to send her there. :-)

One thing that has really stuck with me—my dad commented how very diverse her life is, his (correct) opinion formed from Facebook photos. I grew up in a town where "diversity" was the half-Puerto Rican kid, but NYC truly is a melting pot of races and cultures.
