Exactly. I really wanted to breastfeed. I followed a lactation consultant’s routine of breastfeeding on both sides and pumping on the hour every 3 hours (which took up to 1.5 hours each time), had a baby who fell asleep constantly when feeding and who also never really got the knack of latching. I did this every

I hate it. Everyone pushes it so hard, but hardly anyone will accept it’s not something that works for everyone. Especially in a group situation. I had a stay in hospital a while ago for depression/anxiety and the group meditations just deeply annoyed me and made me focus on everyone else’s annoying breathing. Urgh.

In a previous role, vaccinating babies and kids was one of my duties.  These people are everywhere.  I had one mum refuse to get her kid vaccinated because she had already had ‘homeopathic vaccination’.  On the upside, I had a grandma bring a toddler in to get immunised because the kids mother was antivax.

I have witnessed pretty much this exact exchange. I was in the paediatric emergency ward with my kid, and across from us was a kid with his mum and dad. In fact, it’s easier because they’re all roughly the same shape.

Ah I was just about to link to the NES. Also, I like your union shout out :)

Yep, here too (Australia). Full-time and part-time workers must get a minimum 4 weeks of paid annual leave per year.

Definitely not a Melbourne thing. Maybe just Sydney?

Did you end up with our end-of-sentence upward inflection?

Every time I’ve worked with a New Zealander, somehow my Australian accent ends up with a weird sort of NZ inflection. Other accents don’t seem to have any effect.

This gives me hope for my 20th in a few years time

I read that as though a possible name was Money and eh I wouldn’t be shocked.

so lifelike

I just read a weather warning for where I live.  Tomorrow it will be 42C (108F).  I hate summer.  And I will be working outside tomorrow.  Please send help : (
