After my egg collection I ended up with severe OHSS. I have PCOS, so it was more likely to occur and I had read the information I had been given by the hospital about knowing the warning signs, but still I didn’t go to ED until I could only shuffle around hunched right over in pain because I thought it was just me

I used to work in an area where a lot of my patients were Italian. I was offered sooo much panettone and espresso all the time. It was amazing.

brandy sauce.

Here in Australia it was Christmas yesterday and you’ve missed some vitally important Christmas foods. Firstly, pavlova. With cream and berries or mangos or kiwi fruit or whatever fruit you want to top it with. Secondly (not a favourite of mine but definitely a favourite of a whole lot of other people), prawns.

Having had Christmas yesterday and drinking a lot of champagne, it doesn’t make it better, it just makes it more likely that your true feelings will accidentally show on your face.

I really appreciate people speaking about infertility publicly.  It makes those of us with fertility issues feel not quite so alone and defective.

And also, listeria. Being pregnant and having all the best foods taken away because they’re a listeria risk is the worst. Soft cheeses, deli meats, fresh fruit juice, soft serve, sushi...

That is shocking.  I’m not American, so I don’t know a whole lot about the ins and outs of your system, so thanks for explaining.

Oh jeez, these stories are just shocking.

I am so sorry you’re in this situation. I don’t even know what to say but I think you’re very strong for living through this.

Exactly. It starts early.

Jeez that’s a mess. I can’t imagine the extra stress that worrying about medical bills would bring when you’re already worried about your health. Thanks for the explanation.

That’s a terrible prospect.

Ah the old undeserving people theory.

So what does insurance cover? Hospital costs I assume, but what about seeing your GP or something? Do people generally know what an employer’s benefits are like before they’re employed?

So if you’re unemployed and get sick or injured, you just either get no treatment or you run up a ridiculous debt that you’ll never be able to repay?

Yes, I am. I’m from a country with universal healthcare so this is all very foreign to me and horrifying. Thanks for explaining.

This is horrifying.

I love that the schools, at least around where I live, have been so supportive of students taking action. My kid’s school sent out a message on their app saying they strongly support kids taking action. One of our dickhead politicians said that the kids taking action where heading for the unemployment lines which is
