For whatever reason this reminded me of Silence of the Lambs, and I can’t stop laughing.

A side thought: I love Laverne Cox, and am really glad she’s going to be portraying a trans woman on a major network show. However, I’m a little disappointed that there aren’t other trans actors getting big parts like this. The progress is great, but she seems to be the only trans actor that I see anywhere.

I thought he was great! He at least came off as more personable than Alex, IMHO.

That preshow was insane. The guy that was doing the warm-up round (not Alex) was clearly distressed over the whole thing. You could tell he was thinking, “Trebek is going to fucking kill me for not cleaning up this mess.”

I’m telling you, they were mostly fine during the practice round! I also saw the taping of the Todd/Franzen/Cupp show (they filmed both at the same time), and they all did great. But Lara’s cluelessness threw everyone off: the crew, the contestants, and the audience.

I imagine that Lara thought, “Oh, you want me to be on a game show? How fun! I can be fun on game shows!” On any other show she would have been totally entertaining and great, but unfortunately for her, this is the most serious game in the land.

Some assistant producer didn’t do their job prepping the contestants.
