@avclub-b7a8211586995578af1a2a97cfd214ca:disqus The issue is indeed quite complex, which is why it requires serious consideration. I don't propose to pinpoint one undeniable cause to which the actions of these individuals can be attributed.

For that matter, a serious consideration of the social conditions which breed these people in the United States is also warranted. Guns are very dangerous and do need significantly more regulation, but they are also a tool which requires someone pulling the trigger, and the United States has produced an awful lot of

@avclub-eede55069a8d3430b54730901f49c230:disqus The fact that  Connecticut's gun control laws are already quite stringent as far as the US goes will only serve to complicate debate over  the issue, unfortunately.

@avclub-bc3e14e2ab565f7787d753233df681d1:disqus I'm not advocating forgetting the shooting; I'm advocating forgetting the perpetrator. Months later, I still see discussion of the man who shot up the Batman midnight premiere. It's not productive discussion of his motives and actions and what could have been done to

And of course they'll never fucking stop, because this shit is great for the ratings.

I hope to God that the media doesn't turn this thing into another fucking media circus, though I know that they will. Apparently news networks were interviewing children. Children! Children who had just witnessed a school shooting! Jesus fucking Christ.

Been following that myself. It's quite close to home. Absolutely awful.

Saladin is the worst.

Currently listening to Catholic crusader and Holy Order chants while writing this paper on the crusade. I am having far more fun with this than I should be.

It's almost the end of finals week! Post some inspirational music!

Something else to keep in mind is that if you're an archery superhero, you are essentially Batman-level (highly trained, top physical specimen, gadgetry in lieu of powers) but with the added ability to kill foes or generally wreak havoc from extreme ranges, and Batman does pretty well for himself.

@avclub-eede55069a8d3430b54730901f49c230:disqus I'm curious, what did you think it would be like? The trailer is pretty much exactly what I envisioned, which is to say "giant robots fighting giant monsters".

True, but if your superpower is archery you pretty much fire them at beyond Legolas speeds.

Counterpoint: it has GIANT ROBOTS FIGHTING KAIJU with ACTUAL PRODUCTION VALUES and GOOD ACTORS.

I don't think that it was the existence of the arc itself which was the problem, but rather the fact that the arc brought in the Potentials, who did nothing but eat screentime from the characters we actually cared about in what should have been their swan song.

If you have an infinite supply of really crazy trick arrows it isn't bad as far as they come.

HOLY SHIT this looks amazing. I cannot wait.
