I am firmly convinced that this whole sequence is set up to drive home the point for Korra that she needs to be more in touch with her spiritual side, as her rather petulant refusal to attempt any kind of meditation in earnest has cost both her personally, and Republic City as a whole, a very great deal.

I would think the same thing about healing, but the fact that healing has already been roped off into a separate area of waterbending makes me think that bloodbending doesn't really have a healing application.

I wasn't really sold on Asami at first, but last week won me over firmly. Girl is a badass.
