Agreed with @avclub-0fe01c8a5bcc308ca6bca874fd4caaab:disqus here. Bloodbending, while badass, is also completely impossible to counter unless you know it yourself, and therefore a victory with it is somewhat diminished in glory unless against an opponent of equal ability.

@avclub-bc3e14e2ab565f7787d753233df681d1:disqus That's fair; if you're not sure getting married is what you want to do, by all means, don't and go running off across the galaxy instead.

I absolutely love Eccelston, and am incredibly bummed out that he apparently has refused to return for the 50th anniversary. 9th Doctor is probably my favorite.

To be fair, the Sycorax thing makes sense; advanced technology shouldn't necessarily preclude a society from having tribalistic or backwards notions.

What I'm wondering now is, where the hell is Katara during all this?

We know the Fire Nation lady is a bender (she bends in the Republic City Tour) and, as @avclub-323ca7b091beb1b26cc7a2612f1475d5:disqus observes, Tarrlok's rhetoric implies that the whole council is benders.

I'm not sure if Tarrlok is Amon, for two reasons.

Hell, I'll be honest; I would be fine with the show switching to the story of Lin Beifong, hard-boiled noir police chief turned vigilante, cutting a swath of destruction through the city in her quest to bring down Amon and the Equalists. She's that awesome.
