You can dial back or even disable most of it (if not all) now. Give it another go.

I played Eve Online. The last of that game, for me, was hours long fuel and loot runs to keep a POS running as our home in wormhole space, managing the planetary harvesting chains that netted me about 2b ISK per month.
You should jump back - the 4.0 update added a new Casual mode, plus a bunch of granular settings to customize a lot of the more challenging aspects for newcomers or people who gave up a long time ago. (DISCLAIMER: I have almost 770 hours in NMS, with almost 500 of that in my long-time “main” save, so I am not an…
If the game appealed to you aside from the micromanagement aspects, the custom settings allow you to turn them all off, or as many as you wish. Craft anything, never worry about any type of fuel, build to your heart’s content. It does make the game more appealing for myself.
Same. I just don't have the time to be a minerxplorerastronautgineer on the side.
I think that might be my issue with it. Playing for several hours at a time would have been feasible when I had fewer responsibilities, but now I might play for an hour and then not have time to play for several weeks. By the time I come back to it, I’ve forgotten all the key conversations and plot points and just…

This is why I’m thankful for Gamepass. I can try out these weird little indie gems and see if I want to give them more of my time.
If that is what you want, then that’s awesome. Consoles are always a fantastic option for people who want a dedicated gaming machine that just works. I like PC because I like customization and modding the crap out of my games. I also enjoy the process of upgrading and tuning my PC, which makes me a little bit of a…
No, I said it was a “scummy practice.” You can do a shit, but I don’t conclude that you’re a person made of shit.
It’s a distinction without a difference when revenue is used to recoup development costs. Money invested in the production of a video game that sells at an unprofitable price point is, yes, money lost. Maybe at a certain volume of sales that type of thing becomes profitable, but it’s obviously going to be harder to…
Because it leads to price inflation.
Rings of Power episode 5 is pretty bonkers. don’t care for the Hobbit ancestor storyline so far.
I used to cheat at words with friends. Fuck my friends though.
“Remember the anal bead cheating controversy?”
I’ve heard they were in the shitter
Shut the fuck up snowflake
Hey uh, Kotaku? Nathan doesn’t work here anymore, you don’t have to keep writing articles like this.
I’m pro sexwork and sexworkers, but Kotaku’s obsession with this lady is weird. This whole article just seems like an extended love letter or something. I understand wanting to be more sex positive and promoting the existence of sex workers on mainstream platforms just having the right to exist. But maybe do that by…
Im using my steam deck mostly to play calm, mouse driven games, so my recommendation is Into The Breach. Sure it came out in 2018, but it just got an enormous free update that increased the content by more than half.
