It may not have been VERY good, but it was PRETTY good, controversy aside.

They got things so right with Arceus.

really? coulda fooled me. from what i understood from fan reaction was that arceus was just as hated as bdsp and SV

I wouldn’t say the story is “rotten to the core.” That would imply that it’s off putting or sickening in some sense.

Instead it’s flat, flavourless and bland.

I know there’s at least some people who enjoy Starfield, but to me it’s a classic case of “do the least effort possible because we have enough goodwill that we can get away with it”.

Worth pointing out that the Zelda sales there are only physical. So the headline probably isn’t true.

I think Starfield differs from those examples because lack of specific features were the biggest issues people had with those games. People complained about the half-baked police system in Cyberpunk, along with the inability to shoot while driving, the lack of transmog, the lack of car chases, the lack of relationship

I just did a replay of FO4 and found a game breaking bug. Turns out it’s been known for at least seven years, there are tons of posts about it, and it still hasn’t been patched along with many others. If they can’t be bothered to fix game breaking bugs, I don’t have my hopes up for this.

*definitely not a Bethesda paid customer service rep*: “Actually the worlds AREN’T lifeless and pointless, you’re just playing the game wrong! Why don’t you like fun?”

I don’t know. I feel like, at its very core, there’s a fundamental lack of interesting things to discover in Starfield that no amount of “improved traversal options” can fix.

Can one of the features they roll out be ‘the planets are less lifeless and pointless to explore?’

I mean, too little too late for most people I’d imagine. Most people wanting a Bethesda fix that Starfield didn’t deliver are probably replaying Skyrim, again. I know I am, and with mods for my first time ever on console, it looks and plays better then I ever remember.

Only difference is that Apple is the only maker of their devices and iOS. Google is just one of dozens of companies that use some version of Android OS on their phones. A removal of Fortnite from the Google Play store wouldn’t affect Epic as much as the block from the Apple App store did.

Cid’s not cool, though? He’s a wife-beating alcoholic has-been who is at the lowest point in his life when you meet him. The cigarette fits that perfectly, and if they wanted to send a powerful message about smoking, have him swear to quit or something once he’s finished his arc and had emotionally dealt with his

I do still think it’s nonsense to put Cyberpunk 2077 in the Ongoing Game category, particularly when the only reason it was really “continuing” is that they had to continue to fix their shit, and now they’ve announced they’re done. Somebody really wanted to give CD Projekt Red a consolation prize.

How does Starfield compare to Skyrim? Asking for my wife who has logged literally thousands of hours with various characters in Skyrim, but is a Trekkie at heart - so Starfield seems right up her alley.

Yikes.

This feels like writing on the wall over a BGS. Now that Microsoft is in charge I have to wonder if Todd has much time left there if they’re getting THIS desperate.

I’ve put in around 110 hours now, and would say that I’ve had fun. But yeah, overall it’s boring. The development appears to have been deeply unfocused with very little effort on creating a cohesive whole game.

It’s a monumentally ugly Fallout 3 in space, but emptier. The game literally looks like a 10 year old game with some modern lighting and texture effects.
