That’s the thing, as deadspin has covered before, Grantland didn’t make money. He had an endless budget that ESPN covered because he was winning awards. The ultimate vanity project for ESPN. No one else has that kind of money. I see him working with Turner (TNT, NBA network), and maybe (hopefully) some work for HBO.
I think he knows what his talents are. He is a great curator of talent and a decent writer. I do not think he thinks he is a great tv personality.
