My uncle had one of those, same colour too. His had a wood bumper however for that extra Canadian charm! Lots of fun driving in it. My other uncle put a 200w pioneer system in it (first separate amplifier system I ever saw, we’re talking early 80’s) and it could nearly kill the headlights at night (not that Lucas

OK. Next request..

Agreed.  Fuck the Queen.

I like the look of the Canadian version better.

I dont understand overlanding. I really dont. And I love the outdoors and offroading....

Those 270 degree awnings often look good.  I’ve been looking at the FoxWing, but there’s several vendors of them.

Jeep,

Dana makes plenty of IFS center sections and drive systems too.

So it’s still got a quarter tank left from the original fill-up?

This is one of the great things about drifting. There’s the idea that these cars are ever so slightly disposable, and I think that gives people more a little more leeway when trying out something strange or weird or retro.

Agreed.  I did the whole loop in 8 days, and it always felt like we were in a rush.  “Ok guys stop taking in the stunning landscape, we gotta cover 300km today”.  We basically didn’t do any side trips away from the ring road, and several times a day we had to skip things that we all agreed we wanted to see but

In an attempt to get real data, I just checked Hertz. IMO, rent only from real, global brands, if my experience in Auckland is a guide (more on that in a minute). The answer is Skoda Octavia 4WD Estate. It’s mid-range affordable, has plenty of room for your stuff, you in driving form, and you in horizontal sleeping

I’m still waiting for this to become a real course

I bet it sounds great in the background of a Soft Top Wind Noise Opus no. 32

I came here just to comment on that stereo. The audiophile in me recognized it immediately and I can forgive everything else because the owner obviously likes his tunes. I got to listen to one at a car show back in 2005 and it was glorious.

I did not know such a thing existed until now. And now I kind of want one. 1993 would have been about the time I saw my first audiophile tube amp in a hi-fi store and I was in love.

My GOD, look at that stereo face! That looks like the hi-fi unit my dad used to have when I was a kid in the 1970s! It’s got NEEDLES! I’m really going to need a moment.

If I’m not mistaken, that many people would be roughly all of North America. We would run it as a collective draft. It would be glorious.

That asterisk seems like the work of someone who has read “Well, actually...” too many goddamn times. Relatable

13 years ago it was $4500 new, and I was thrilled with the quality back then. Really, for most amateurs who post web only, its more than fine. Shoot raw, use the whole sensor. Its less about megapixels and more about dynamic range (latitude). Especially when shooting in the middle of the day. Low light may be a
