You know they make these funny things called umbrellas and jackets. They sell them at stores and anyone can buy them. You don’t even need a permit.
... I am all for charitable activities but 3 fucking miles? I walk that to and from work daily, willingly, because commuting that distance is stupid.
Francis, is that you?
I haven’t seen one in Tofino. The one I referenced is in Victoria. At the end of Hwy 1. The highway to Tofino is not Highway 1/Trans Canada. It’s the end of the road as far as driving West in Canada, but it’s not the terminus of the TCH. And yeah, Alberta, east of the Rockies is getting into “watch your dog run away…
Mile zero and the plaque for it are in Victoria. I have the picture. But yes, Nanaimo to Tofino is epic. Sooke to Lake Cowichan is awesome too.
Rossport is still my favourite part of Superior, having grown up in Sault Ste Marie, that area still wins my heart. It’s just incredible. Plus the turn/drop into it heading north is epic.
I agree. I enjoy driving through Saskatchewan. Manitoba sucks.
Small world. My uncle owns TransCan Service.
That’s just down the road from my uncles place. He runs a heavy duty shop and wreckers in blind river. Small world. And yes, Clarence’s smoked fish is worth stopping for even for us.
I grew up 45 minutes away from the official half way point. Moved to BC 3 years ago. I’ll contend that Manitoba is by far the shittiest stretch second only to the section from Thunder Bay to the Manitoba boarder.
Actually it was the local club that really started tearing them apart. I know. This is local to me and I tipped Torch with the update.
Everything about this was fantastic. I enjoy your contributions.
Yep. Ford tech here. We do Roush stuff and we held a damn dyno day at our dealership, and a shop drag car for a while. Actually, I’m local to this story.
Their marketing head has commented on the matter on our local car club FB page due to all the fracas raised by this. Awesome! :) Torch, I sent you a copy of their post as well:
A thousand times, this. I saw the sparks in the screenshot and knew a clutch exploded, but damn. This is why SFI bellhousings exist.
I kinda miss Tarantola over on Giz too. At least we still have Torch around here.
It’s always caused by either a worn suspension component (typically more than one), or inadequate steering dampening after installing larger tires. Fix your shit and this doesn’t happen.

Sounded like the pilot didn’t wanna be flying that thing in the first place. Also, the “Goddammit” seemed to be over the engine out, or hitting the rock on landing more than anything.
