The “too many sports teams” argument makes absolutely no sense to me.  Are there really people that would turn out to lots of baseball games but don’t, because they already went to a football game that year?

I thought this was a great article and thoroughly enjoyed it. Only detail I want to pick out is that his second goal yesterday was not due to a preternatural ability to be in the right place at the right time. There is absolutely no reason that Barkley should have put the ball into that specific point in spacetime. So

I would like to meet the person who has successfully fought a mountain lion with a “cap or jacket”

“Get a life”  -a person in the comments section of a website

Counterpoint:  you’re a guy in the comments section telling people to “be better”

You’re right, we shouldn’t try to fix something because that won’t fix EVERYTHING.  Makes perfect sense.

yikes man, i dunno...

Surprised we haven’t had an article about how a union could have prevented this

The Patriots are that guy we all went to high school with who we thought would DEFINITELY get his ass kicked by the real world once he got out there, but then he became a lawyer and has more money than us now, but is still a colossal prick.  If I can’t hate that guy, then I have no reason left to live.

Aaron Hernandez did show quite a bit of personality, you’re right

“Spend exactly none of your time killing time”

Maybe you’d prefer “Sockers FC”

I think we should stop playing the actual games and just use a supercomputer to simulate them until a preponderance of evidence shows who would have won had everything played out to statistical finality.  It’s the only fair way.

Yep!  I don’t follow college sports.  Maybe that was obvious.

I swear this is a serious question - they let grad students play football??? I guess I assumed that somehow made you ineligible. But, if he can simultaneously have gotten us bachelor’s degree and still be a “redshirt sophomore,” whatever!

Wait, he already graduated? So does he just get to play football and not go to any classes? How does that work? Do they have to use a scholarship on him?

Has anyone bothered to point out that he could have just hired an actual fucking caterer?

If I never read/hear the phrase “what would you have me do” again, I would be very ok with it.

Definitely not trying to defend the call or the play - but I think he might have been talking about the two screen doors that opened up for #44...

Holy cow, you’re right!  I don’t know where I picked that up.  That’s my bad.
