This is extremely premature. We are at something like 2% market share for EV right now. Manufactures are putting their hats in for EV in a big way but its not going to be a total switch for a long time.

Less things in our life should be considered disposable, our cars least of all. I have a 30 year old toaster works perfectly. Shouldn't our cars last at least that long. If not for us at least for the environment.

Anyone complaining about the socket retention or cooler clip should probably stick to a prebuilt or console. Never had an issue with either one. Maybe I'm just more mechanically inclined.... Who knows.

Eh; just twist it a little bit while pulling it out. It’s thermal paste, not thermal adheshive. Even if you pull the cooler straight off, if you pull the CPU out with it, you didn’t have it properly seated to begin with.

This. Jesus. Typically the processor install is an event that happens exactly one time, usually only once in the life of the mobo. You can do it careful, and then never think about it again. It's fine . 

In 20 years of building my own PCs. All of it with this style of CPU (Intel used to use it as well). This has never once happened to me. Or anyone I’ve met in real life. Cause if you calm your shit and don’t force things, it won’t happen.
