I’d say I don’t want to be that guy, but in this case I do... Seriously, a trans actor of colour wins a TV Best Actress award and you relegate a mention of it to parentheses? This is such wonderful news. MJ was always the heart of Pose. Great to see her recognised. Her picture should be in the header image.

Spoilers, obviously. Late to the conversation but are the dinosaurs also stuck in a time loop - forever existing in that part of the desert for that day? Maybe there was another rift/cave somewhere on that faultline they walked/fell into millions of years ago.

Absolutely agree. I think season 5 is very strong. The show did have a lot of elements at that point that were starting to turn idiotic. The show was starting to suffer from Dexter having to constantly pretend he was busy working while going off to murder someone, something which having a baby drew a lot of attention

I just rewatched the season 3 episode the other day. It’s otherwise very funny. Maybe they can edit Jenna in blackface out- whiteface, monster-clawed Becky/Tracey is something to behold. It’s also the episode with the Oprah/Pam storyline.

Doggy doggy... What now?

I would rate this season pretty high - in the top 3 at least, maybe sharing number one with season 1. Having not rewatched any of the seasons (admittedly rare for a show I have watched for 7 years) I can’t remember all of it, but I think this would be easily the most consistent and thoughtful season since the

One the issues with AV Club is the writers often prattle on and the readers need a bibliography of references to keep up. Just say “Number Six from...” So everyone knows what you’re talking about!

It’s with watching her TED talk on YouTube which explains the 'not-funniness' of Nanette.

I liked the documentary but the detail about women’s shoes seemed a bit tacked on at the end, almost like a punchline or flimsy twist. It has been about 8 years since I’ve seen it so I can’t remember it particularly well, but it certainly felt cheap to hold back that information just so they could blurt it out near

At least Dexter now has some real competition for the titles of worst series finale and most pointless final season of all time.

Now playing

I drip-fed myself this season a bit more than previous ones, to make it last a bit longer, because I’d just rewatched the previous 4 seasons and also because I think it would have put me in a very sombre mood if I had consumed it all over one weekend. That being said, I really feel like I need to rewatch this season

It’s Irish. Asking Brits to change it is... problematic.

To quote Shep from the Oscar nomation episode of Bojack Horseman, “Bradley Cooper? We like him for some reason!”

I’ve been rewatching the entire series pretty quickly in anticipation of Season 5 but I screeched to a halt and had to wait a few days before I tackled this one again - it still registers so strongly emotionally for me. I have already seen it twice but finally bit the bullet and watched it again for the third time

I guess Ruby Rose was too busy shooting The Meg to come back but I was expecting Stella to be out for justice on Piper’s arrival in Max. Might have been a more interesting conflict that Badison/Piper or Barb and Carol/Everyone.

There are several great allusions to shared-trauma of the being a Bluth grandchild between Maeby and George Michael.

Having just finished watching this 8 episode batch, I think this first episode is the one I laughed most at. Any scene with Alia Shawkat is instantly amazing and her work with Michael Cera is definitely a series highlight. It was also nice to see throughout the half season that scenes and conversations were allowed to

I probably wouldn’t have bothered with this movie until I noticed one of the actresses is a friend from University. I know she definitely would have had a great time with this material.

Do what mister calavera says! This season is a turning point... The ending is simple but blissful.

Hmm. I’m confused by the grading of this season as it is definitely an improvement on the first season, but it isn’t reflected in the grades. I think this finale is the best episode of the series to date - an A- if not an A. It finally had some flourish and intricate plotting. It will be good if the third season plays
