"You've heard of Serial?"

These raptilian battles are getting out of hand!

Your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your dermatology Youtube channel, Shulkie! Or should I say… Dr. Sebum Smasher?

Shouldn't you be commenting on the Ren & Stimpy article?

Random musings… why hasn't anyone turned The Fifth Element into a TV series? Or an animated series, that might work better. I mean, it could turn out badly, like Minority Report. But I'd certainly be curious to see something set in that world.

I just finished Marvel Comics: The Untold Story and despite an extensive litany of Marvel fiascos and boondoggles, it has nary a mention of Chuck Austen. Which is somehow deeply gratifying.

The true heroine, sure. In no way is she the protagonist. But yeah, one of the things I liked about The Magicians was its irreverent approach to trite fantasy tropes. Quentin doesn't have a "destiny" — he's merely the target of a snow job from Jane. The group isn't the Fellowship, but a collection of venial lost

There's already a book called "Netflixed: The Epic Battle for America's Eyeballs" that I haven't read, but it looks intriguing.

It's all unnecessary, though. (Certainly most of The Walking Dead is unnecessary, heh!)

I suppose it's inevitable that some people will (sadly) take the podcast show title way too literally….

Yeah, those are not "bros", Coleman! And I find it hard to imagine that dudebros are the types of guys who would be regular voters on imdb….

MORE BOOK SPOILERS (about magic theory)

It's Always Sunny is full of awful people… I get what you mean, though. But the show has already diverged quite a bit from the novels. Penny for one is completely different! I imagine the show is going into a dweebier version of Trainspotting in its handling of its asshole characters.

Well, if you can keep watching Game of Thrones, I don't see why you can't watch this one. Maybe you don't watch GoT. But the point is, it's shown horrific stuff I never wanted to see, but I'm still watching it. And I'm a pacifist….

Yeah, that has been an issue in some episodes. But fyi the show is doing its own thing, and only loosely following the novels… which are, admittedly, character driven and not highly narrative focused.

Alan Sepinwall's book appears to offer a kind of follow-up, in a way, though it's less focused on the networks.

Desperate Networks wasn't nearly as engrossing as The Late Shift… network execs simply aren't as colorful as entertainers. The "inside baseball" look at how the sausage gets made, though, was eye opening and often infuriating. Definitely a good read that I'll probably never pick up again (except to settle the odd

No comment on "whose magic is absolutely gone and never coming back"?

I'm still an avid watcher of Arrow, so… if a show can deliver on entertaining action, I can live with the soapy stuff. Arrow still has that, though it's been dialed down a notch.

I mean, yeah it was gruesome. But the source books have quite a lot of horrific bloodshed and trauma, arguably worse stuff than this. Personally, I'm impressed and pleased that the show dares to go to such places.
