The early episodes are the worst so far, definitely. The show has magically (heh) overcome that weak start and it's worth watching now. That rabbit scene was hella nasty, though. The show has killed a puppy, a bunny… what next, an exploding kitty?

Wow, this is a huge departure from the books. The show is definitely going its own way. And if it's gonna be this much fun, I'm all for it.
…or Chris Evans, Ben Affleck, Morena Baccarin, Neal McDonough, etc.
Moonraker was probably my first Bond movie as well. I don't recall at what age I saw it, but I remember that I was sooo disappointed as I had been expecting a space opera adventure.
I don't watch Downton Abbey but that little kid's face in the picture is freaking me out. I'm just gonna assume it's a horror series about the birth of the Antichrist.
Wow, for once imdb is fairly spot on with that Garcia Márquez one. Though I wish I wasn't reminded of that abomination of a film they made of it.
Sorry for your loss, Franko. I don't know how it's affecting you, but my mourning phase has largely been me feeling that the world is not real anymore. I'm living in a Bizarro world or something. One thing that has helped is, I (very impulsively) adopted a kitten. He's a real sweetheart and is a much-needed reminder…
Late to this, but… I'll say that the pilot was very weak, and the show doesn't capture the feel of the book, and Alice is not a whole lot like book Alice. But if you treat the show as its own thing, rather than a faithful adaptation, it can be a fun watch. It is pretty dumb at times, but that's true of most genre…
I miss the Stan Lee gimmick poster. Weird that there's so much Marvel talk these days, yet he's not shilling on his soapbox.
I saw it as a kid, but all of the host segments had been replaced, with a pair of local comedians instead of Kitano. It was Takeshi's Castle without Takeshi.
Not an Edgar Wright fan, I take it?
"Tonally uneven" is something you'll encounter endlessly in HK cinema. If you can get over how jarring it is, the unevenness has a certain charm. I can't help but note that certain genres of anime trade on a similar unevenness, though this feels less jarring, perhaps because it's animated.
I think that was a joke about Archie comics not being great comedy. But thanks for the link!
Also, CSIs are not cops, and medical doctors don't handle every single procedure and lab test themselves, and cops don't have bestselling novelists helping them to solve their cases!
Marvels by Busiek and Alex Ross has some potential, too. Though I'd much prefer to see Gotham Central.
Good advice. Thanks.
Thank you.
Guess she'll be hanging out with you, ol' smuggler. Thank you.
Thank you, Smithers.
Thank you.
