"the Bush"?
"the Bush"?
I wonder if they old set was still standing or if someone had to rebuild it.
This can't be right. Lemmy can't die anymore than a mountain can.
It's a pretty common trope: If a woman turns you down, keep trying and she'll eventually be won over by your persistence!
It's a pretty cynical song. He's using the excuse of it being cold to convince a woman to stay and fuck him.
Agree. Let's not give it a pass just because "times were different!"
This is a very bad write-up.
This more or less explains it: https://xkcd.com/988/
Hey, you're right! I've never actually heard the entire album, though I might check it out now.
Santa's…tongue???
Great article. I think it's one of those songs where the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts. I always felt it was the spiritual sister to Darlene Love's "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)."
To be fair, Christie probably started listening in the 70s when his stuff was way less political (although still sympathetic to working class issues that Christie hates).
I don't think Springsteen has ever once claimed that he personally is struggling.
Yes. It was an epic burn.
Wait, are you saying that the audience is pretending or Springsteen is pretending?
"You know this song is about how capitalism ruins people, right?"
"Durr, I like the loud noises!"
It happens so fucking regularly. No one ever learns.
I think Springsteen's popularity has tapered off in the south due to his political leanings, but I admit I'm surprised there isn't an Austin show.
The more amazing this is how that's only half a show.
Have they announced prices yet? I'm guessing they'll be in the $75-$100 level.
