I thought the 2.5L Skyactiv was still Mazda built? Cause I thought once Mazda dropped the 2.3L engine and did the 2.0L and 2.5L Skyactiv engine was when they were pretty much done with Ford?

My friend’s 2011 Mazda 3 2.5 automatic, she’s already been in twice for cleaning of the valves. She almost never takes her 3 on the highway to burn off the carbon deposits on the valves. Other than that, I don’t think she’s really had an issue.

I thought this applied to ALL 90's VWs?

Yup. I mean I am a car enthusiast, however I don’t make quite enough for a crazy car. My fiance has a kid so pretty much 2 door coupes and 2 seaters are out of the question. My fiance is pretty short and is frustrated driving sedans as she can barely see over the hood. So I know I wanted an SUV/crossover. Actually in

Sure but then you should always shop around.

Yup I do too. I like how people make fun it has no power or its slow, the N/A Subarus are like Miatas, they are momentum cars. And I get 26 mpg combined for raised AWD hatchback.

Yeah I’ve found out with my older 3.0R Outback, if you bought it used or it has a ton of mileage, alot of things go wrong at like the same time or one after another. SVX is kinda cool looking but the lack of a manual is such a bummer. :\

Yup just show your Costco card at the Tire center. Mine open up at 9 am, so I start waiting in line at 8:15-8:20 am. If I go there at like 8:30 am, there is usually 3-4 people already waiting in line. Tire rotations there take like 30-40 mins but meh it’s free.

Are you sure? I think the dealer puts in like 4.3 quarts or something, I can go check my paperwork.

I mean I did my research. I look for certain attributes when buying a car, easy of service, long term durability (to a point), low cost of ownership. The Crosstrek seemed to fit that bill, except the CVT transmission. Overall Subaru had started the CVT train since 2010 of the 2nd gen Lineartronic CVT, and overall it

Nope. Eh not a huge deal for me, Costco rotates my tires for free. Yes I know it sucks to get it done at a different place.

Partially. I try not to buy the first model years of a car. The 2012-2013 FB20 and later years of the FB25 do burn oil. I always try to check my oil level and do my oil changes on time (5000 if heavy duty city driving, 7500 when I do alot of highway).

Yeah it was kinda weird. Jiffy Lube used to do like 20-30 dollar conventional oil changes but their synthetic oil was always $$$.

I had picked the Crosstrek as it was manufactured in Japan. I like how tall the Forester is and has a bit more cargo room than the Crosstrek. Honestly my next car is either a 4Runner or the new Ascent, we shall see.

Holy mother new engines? I feel ever since BMW wanted to build cookie cutter compliance cars (turbocharged inline 4's, less and less manuals, less driver involvement), they’ve went to shit. You really don’t hear the old straight 6's ever going kaput.

I think Subaru got alot of bad rep for the old EJ series motors, so they decided to kinda go ground up on the F series motors. Oil filter right on top (vs in the middle of the exhaust manifold), no more timing belt. I guess spark plugs are still a pain, but boxer motor? Yup when I got my 2005 Outback 3.0R, I wanted a

That is pretty cool, I’ll have to check out Annapolis Subaru sometime.

Yeah it’s crazy. My fiance’s step father has a 2013 Chevy Sonic. Jiffy Lube charged us 120 with taxes and fees for a full synthetic oil change, what a rip.

Ah yes a ‘07 Impreza should use an EJ253. I’ve heard the reports that those head gaskets last to like 120-130k miles before they do need to be changed out. I think it’s also luck of the draw. Yeah the timing belt you don’t really want to wait out on....Subaru are non-interference so if that timing belt snaps, bye bye

I checked all the prices of dealerships near my (Herb Gordon, Fitz Mall Gaithersburg and Stohlman Subaru) and all the prices are pretty comparable.
