Why would I spend 14k on a early DSM when 14k can buy you an Evo?

I mean to be honest, can you blame them? STI has been powered by the same EJ257 engine for almost 15 years. It’s not very efficient considering other competitor cars get way better fuel economy and similar performance. Yes there’s something to be said about being tried and true, but goddamn Subaru just kill off the EJ

2017 MY is the first to be made in America as is the new Subaru global platform. 2018 Crosstrek too. Only models now made in Japan are all turbo versions of cars (WRX, STI, FXT) and the BRZ. Ascent is more than likely going to be made in America given it will underpin the Impreza/Legacy platforms.

Holy hell drift tax. My first ‘95 240SX SE auto with like 220k miles was like....2300. It wasn’t 100% but it was 98% clean, no real mods minus an Ebay muffler. My 2nd ‘96 240SX base was 2200 with BC coilovers, 5MT, no sunroof 4 lug. If you look really hard, you can find clean 240s. I would skip over any S13.

Outback 3.6R? Although not as upscale as the A6, it is fairly reliable. If she can hold out til 2018, the Ascent/Tribeca replacement should be coming out.

Yes but other entry level sport coupes had way more power (DSM quadruplets though they were FWD, Probe GT). Yes we did get a truck motor, but that’s how Nissan got it insurable, it didn’t have a turbo or even DOHC.

But Subaru doesn’t want to cannibalize it’s own products. If people saw 2 sporty Subarus around 300 horses for ~30k, they would eat into its own sales. Hence why you see so many WRX’s compared to STI’s (27k vs a car that starts at 36k which has a 14 year old largely same EJ257 engine).

I literally don’t see why people are complaining about the 86/BRZ. The only thing wrong I think with it is the pricing. 200 hp is perfectly fine for a light weight, rear wheel drive sports coupe. I don’t hear people complaining the original 240SX which only had like 140 hp from a 2.4L SOHC inline 4. The problem is the

Recall ALL the VWs. The only half decent one is the Golf/GTI built on MQB. Everything else in the VW lineup is medicore at best, and god awful at worst. Jetta is terrible, Passat is large and boring. Touraeg doesn’t break new ground, Tiguan finally got an update to MQB. Beetle, do I even need to say more? Alltrak has

Honestly I don’t see why this makes a huge difference. The Impreza isn’t a huge selling compact car compared to the compact car leaders. That may mean eventually the Crosstrek production moves to the US too as it sits on the Impreza chassis. They really need to expand production of the Indiana plant for the Outback

I thought older vehicles would be grandfathered in or is that saying no diesel vehicles can be driven in the city?

Well played good sir.

This literally sounds like an episode of Law and Order SVU.

I understand why Jeep had to do it, CAFE standards. How else do you make an offroading brand meet fuel efficiency standards? Get a FWD based car, shitty 4 cylinder, and a soul sucking CVT. Jeep honestly just needs a mid sized 3 row, and a better compact. I think the Cherokee as much as it is a travesty on the original

Wait wait wait, not a Mustang? Such bullshit.

Ugh once had a Jetta 2.5 SE rental. Worst worst worst rental car I’ve ever driven. The brakes were totally mush, the automatic transmission was so hesitant to upshift, it took me forever to figure out the controls (German cars be damned). I also drove it in Minnesota, horrible tires for snow. The visibility was pretty

Holy hell crack pipe, I can get an SVT Terminator for that much.

Holy fuck that is ugly. But then again so was the 1st gen “B9 Tribeca”. Goddamn Subaru, I guess the only ones I’m buying now is a GF8 wagon and a GD chassis WRX/STI.

The Ford Taurus one is SO true. Half the old people driving those ugly ass wagons have no clue what DOHC 24 valve means. I saw this badges on this pos Saturn, I’m like bro biggest issue is you driving a Saturn...
