In my technical writing class we were instructed to always use as much jargon as possible so that people knew how smart we are. We also took an oath to always correct others when they fail to show that they are as smart as we are.

This reminds me of a video rental store I used to patronize. The last time I was there they were pushing “premium memberships”.  For a fee up front you got discounts for a year. A week later I drove by and noticed they had gone out of business.
