small nitpick, but people really gotta stop pointing at $24 million like it was a success. Diablo 3 made nearly that in its first DAY and surpassed that in the first week.

$24 million is guaranteed to be a fraction of what they were hoping for.

We have a winner.

OK, I believe them.

Every shitty new thing I hear about him tracks with him standing by Doug TenNapel.

All of this over piracy - or, more specifically, “selling cheat and modification devices for Nintendo hardware”, as the article put it. And even the judge went on to describe his crimes as “terrible”.

A thing that I realized recently is that the people who are really pushing this are investors, and for them ‘making more money’ IS a leisure activity, and they can’t fathom that for a lot of people who work 40-60 hours a week to make their rent and expenses need to draw a hard line between ‘work’ and ‘leisure’ or else

I think the appeal is that they can offload a lot of the responsibility to the blockchain, rather than building and maintaining all the infrastructure themselves. It’s much more cost-effective.

The weird thing is that all these companies keep looking into NFTs while the thing they want: steam marketplace, doesn’t use NFTs at all.

The absurdity of it is really on show when you compare it to other forms of entertainment.

The sad part is...

Not at all surprising that the first NFT game on the store would just be using asset flips for a quick buck, which seems to be the main purpose of NFTs in general. I’ve yet to see a concept for using NFTs that would work and that can’t already be done with your typical account based systems.

I’m sure you’re as aware of this as I am, but for anybody else who might not be aware: the folks saying that their shitty views deserve to be respected don’t actually care about tolerance. They’re just using the language of tolerance to try and defend being bigots.

Agreed.  Being “religious” isn’t carte blanche to be a raging homophobic dickface ... no matter how many Americans would like it to be.

“WTF is this?” one person referencing Almalki’s comment asked FaZe Clan’s account. “I don’t agree with how he went about it, but it’s his religion and we have to respect it just like people apart of the lgbtq community should be respected,” another replied.

Paradox of tolerance. Extending tolerance to those with intolerant views results in that tolerance getting destroyed by the intolerant.

“Line Goes Up” addresses this. It points out that by publicly buying into NFTs and such, you are signaling to the world that you are desperate to get rich quick, you are bad with money, and you are bad with risk assessment.

When a racist psychopath kills double digits of people in Germany, it’s a major event that shocks the entire nation and gets declared a terrorist attack.

Bitcoin will never reach zero.
