“Hey you like cars, right? Well I’m looking to buy a new one and....”

Searching for used cars and seeing the number of available cars reduce by 90% when you check the Transmission->Manual box.

When friends and family ask me for advice for what car they should buy. I give them several really good, interesting options. Then, they ignore those choices and end up buying a Camry.

Person: ‘So if money was no object, what would you buy?’

The constant whining and misplaced nostalgia.

Cost.

Knowing you’ll probably never be able to afford your dream car 😔

My quick and dirty interpretation of a Lotus SUV.

I switched from a v60 Wago to a Miata. Now I assume every wrong move will kill me, so I pay more attention. Plus - when I need to take a detour to avoid an accidents, off ramps = wheeeeeeeeeee.

Note to self: buy cars with engines in the rear.

That happened to me. That’s part of why I drive a tiny truck that will only really kill me if I crash into anyone - remove temptation to just hit every idiot I think I could beat in a fight (and I’m a narcissist so that’s everyone)

Maybe if they get an inflatable banana, he will come back.

My GPWMB says hi!

So reading this article made me realize I spend 628hrs and 20 minutes commuting a year....or $3,600 in fuel...or 48 tanks....or holy shit my life is ruined.

I get more done at work. At least 4-6 comments on Jalopnik per day vs 0 when I’m home.

“I...I gotta run an errand! Where? Um...just a...place.” ZOOOOOM.

I work from home a large company, doing a job that I would absolutely NOT do if I had to commute into an office. Anecdote aside, employers should take note: People will accept (and remain in) a wider array of jobs when allowed to telecommute. If you hire the right people — those without Jalopnik accounts — they will

I wheelie got a kick out of that!
