travis has the weakest solo work by far. seems weird to jump into this particular group of podcasts with the solo shows of one of the brothers?

there are episodes this season one could debate as being worthy of a B grade. this was not one of them. my problem with the review had less to do with the score he gave it (which at the end of the day is arbitrary) and more to do with the complete and utter lack of care, thought, or actual criticism that went into

he's half of the ice-drilling hitman duo from season one, along with adam goldberg. he's hospitalized and arrested but Malvo gives him the keys to his handcuffs offering him freedom. he also appears as a boy in S2 but i don't remember where, making him the only character to appear in all three seasons so far.

no, in episode six dialogue from Loplop is rerecorded as a sitcom, when Nicki is returning to her motel room after getting ice we can hear it in the background. you can see the footage around 5:55 into this video (https://youtu.be/fzt5ttMpkKI ) though i don't know that the guys analysis is particularly interesting.

i don't agree with you but these two paragraphs are a more insightful and well written criticism than the entire review we're commenting on.

like the dude spends literally six paragraphs complaining about the time jump but can't see the forrest through the trees - the time passed is most impactful for the characters we haven't yet seen react to it (I.E. Nicki and Wrench and possibly Sy himself). he barely touches upon the mesmerizing first half of the

WHACK HANDLEN STRIKES AGAIN

i can already sense that this finale will be divisive but i found it to be absolutely wonderful. what a show. never thought i would find myself saying this but i can't wait to see what damon lindelof does next.

he's been up his own ass for a few years now. it's a shame i really liked his earlier stuff.

*Zach Handlen opens yet another AV Club review talking about the plight of reviewing as if that has any relevance whatsoever to the content of the show*

this opinion is literally insane

it sounds exactly as good. it's not distracting it's literally playing an instrument. not sure why you're nitpicking this considering you have no clue what you're talking about.

well with LCD specifically none of their music is composed with software as far as I know. composing with analogue synths is useful as a constraint, for example most of Get Innocuous! consists of sounds from one particular Yamaha keyboard. modular synths are also just cool as fuck and a fun hobby if you can afford it.

you misread the sketch.

pretty much any big band that wants to play synths "live" on stage is going to have a modular synth setup, radiohead and nine inch nails come to mind as two prominent examples.

he programs the modular synths, which were a big part of electronic music before the pro tools era and are kind of core to LCD's sound

true detective season 2 was an overwrought boring mess from the first ten minutes and had nothing in common with the much better season 1. you might not dig this season (they're definitely going in a different direction than the last two) but it does not equal the utter artistic failure of TD season 2, since we

hahahahaha hahahaha. nah.

all great episodes. some of my favorites. but this may have been the best episode they've ever done.
