Trying to legislate people’s diets is a really bad idea, not because the goal is not a worthy one, but because government is singularly cumbersome and ineffective at engineering behavior.

I’m a lawyer (hold your applause). Most attorneys have respect for the unwritten “professional courtesy” when it comes to scheduling matters, moving deadlines, etc. It’s about not being a dick more than anything, and people who don’t respect the professional courtesy are assholes.

Not that I’ve ever played sports that earned myself or anyone else money, but I have played sports. And I really don’t think that, once you’re on the field you’re thinking about the economics.
