Did you see Sam Bee’s piece on how poor women have trouble affording diapers for their kids? And how Republicans think these women shouldn’t be able to pay for diapers with food stamps? And if you can’t afford to buy diapers, you probably should have thought about that before you went and got yourself pregnant, slut?

We are still paying them to talk about it and vote on it, while not talking about or voting on things that actually matter.

So what?? Women should be under no obligation to give reasons for why they want an abortion. If this garbage passes, women will just lie about the reason anyway and call it a day. It’s completely nonsensical and a waste of time. It’s pure anti-choice propaganda disguised as legislation.

Go find a bible and a brick wall. While holding the bible firmly in your left hand, smash your head into the brick wall. Repeatedly. Now do you understand?

So the theory here is that the reason more African American women seek out abortion is not that they are more likely to face economic hardship and lack of access to birth control, but rather that they don’t want black babies? Just want to make sure I understand.

Eh. This has about as much chance of getting through both houses of congress and signed into law as a bill to legalize crack.

I love how Poehler just didn’t take any of their shit and called them out on it and dared them to come at her. She’s a shero of mine.

I guess I would be“Gus and his mate Mark” My name is not Gus but i suspect I put off a Gus like aura. And I do have a friend named Mark.

She is only about money. She has shown this before when she performed for president of Turkmenistan.

they don’t need no education, they don’t need no birth control, welcome to Scientology

Earnest, sure, but also dumber than a sack of hammers hanging from a doorknob attached to a fencepost.

Most likely true. Here is the listing not current artists from Wikipedia. It’s a venerable whose who of who?

Put Dr. Luke in a box and throw him in the ocean.

Yep. These assholes never prey on the celebrities. They prey on the unknowns who work with them based on their reputation & access to celebrities, who turn a blind eye to the stuff everybody knows is true/nobody talks about.

In a way, I think going this public is a safety measure. Everyone knows she's a target, so if anything happened to her the church of scientology would have some explaining to do.

There are a ton of really great books by former scientologists. Basically, you read one, look at the important names, then google them and they'll have left and written a book (of all the former high-profile scientology leaders, only David Miscavige remains). I've read the books by Mark Headley, Amy Scobee, and Jenna

I bought Jenna Miscavige Hill's book via Amazon a few months ago, it was a good read and so far, no trouble from the Hubbard drones. And I just got a mailing from a place I went tubing 3 years ago, when I had a different address, so I know I can easily be found.

She's well-known enough, and is doing this publicly enough, that anything that happens to her will be (reasonably) blamed on Miscavige and his his henchmen, whether they did it or not. It will be very difficult for them to get away with anything without it being obvious it's them.

Learned helplessness is such a bitch, isn't it?

There is a fantastic part in Going Clear when the author Lawrence Wright points out that some of the people held in these "secret compounds" wouldn't leave if you let them. They've internalized the rules of the church without doubt, and they believe that they must atone if they want the rest of their billion year
