It’s not about donating - it’s the whole economy of the area. People travel there, spend money there, etc. Donations have nothing at all to do with it. Businesses in the area rely on these seasonal infusions of people and cash much the same way seasonal businesses everywhere do.

I’m sure many people think this festival is in the middle of nowhere. They may not realize that there’s a large local mainly Latino population that’s heavily dependent on this festival. I used to know a couple of people from Indio. They must be mortified by this talk of a boycott.

Listen, yes, it’s fucking shitty that this guy donated to these groups to begin with, but he’s an old white dude who inherited his dad’s investment firm (The Anschutz Corp) which owns AEG Live which owns Goldenvoice (who pretty much operate as their own entity). Like, he’s an old white dude who owns a lot of shit, as

Thanks for saying this. I work with a nonprofit group that supports businesses in that area and it’s amazing how many are reliant on “festival season”. A boycott will not put a dent in Anshutz’s pocket but will hurt those people.

Except it’s not really fair to blame Coachella for Anschutz. This is a case of a bigger company buying a smaller company that was the one actually behind Coachella. The Coachella festival supports a lot of charities that support the surrounding communities. You can see the list of charities they support here. https://w

“Like, literally just now. We stopped!”

We owe him nothing. The only thing anyone with a conscience owes him is a swift kick to the nuts.

Me too, even though I’m Canadian. Same with my mother and a lot of my friends. Hillary is a powerful symbol for women all over the world and she lost to sentient shower mold. It is painful.

me too. I thought I was going to start bawling when she got to the part of the speech where she addressed young women and girls.

I know she was right and classy, but it is hard to feel like I owe Donald Trump anything.

My 14 year old is extremely interested in politics. As a homeschool kid she has the option to choose a lot of her curriculum. Today she said, “ I want it centered around politics. I want to walk out of college and change the world.” And so it shall be. She will have a mess to clean up but I hope all young girls and

oh my god, i am crying at work. This is so sad and this is an incredibly brave and gracious way for her to concede.

“Don’t even bother investigating it, we already know it was a brown guy who did it! Now, where do we want to aim the might of the American military next so we can enrich some private military contractors and strain our country’s resources even further. Benghazi!” - The American Right

So what did he mean to communicate in the context of this message when he said we better get tough if he literally has no clue of the cause? What if it was a gas leak? What if it was a Samsung phone next to a gas can?

He implied it was an intentional act right after he said nobody knows the cause.

Who are we supposed to “get tough” with? It implies a particular policy to stop things like this from happening, but which of the following do you think is true:

Yes he did, he just didn’t state it explicitly. And the reason he didn’t state it explicitly is because of people like you: blind supporters who will speak the conclusions for him when it fits his narrative, and who will deny he jumped to a conclusion when it doesn’t. It’s how people like you will keep saying that

He said “a bomb went off.” While that’s likely, not all explosions are caused by bombs, and it had not been confirmed to be a bomb at the time he said that.

He said it was a bomb before there was any confirmation of it being a bomb. That’s the problem. It’s stupid and irresponsible, especially for anybody seeking any elected office.

Are we sure Trump actually knows that bomb and explosion are not necessarily the same thing?
