There Are No Teams
therearenoteams

Belichick has had 8 former assistants (5 were coordinators, in bold) go on to head coaching gigs. Here’s how they performed in their first games back against him:

i’m pretty sure they’re managed by the NWS, not the states. we similarly get them semi-regularly enough for flash-flood warnings on the east coast. the idea is to address any possibly dangerous weather events, not just hurricanes or tsunamis.

the supervisor likely handled it the way they’re trained to do so.

I guess I just don’t think of many truly elite kickers as being journeymen. You look at the top 10 kickers by FG% (min 50 atts), and most spent the bulk of their career in one place. The top 4 (Tucker, Bailey, Boswell, Gost) have been at a single team (though Bailey’s about to suit up for his second). The next six

None of the four kickers you just mentioned are available. The one who most recently was available had turned down turned down offers from four teams before agreeing to one he liked. So none of them exactly work as a citation for the “plenty of kickers” you think are available down at the ol’ kicker store.

But unlike QBs, there are plenty of kickers. Unlike QBs, you can go down to the Kicker Store and pick another one up.

As a fan of a team who has had a franchise QB my entire life (What’s up Bledsoe! What’s up Brady!), it is absolutely baffling why these teams don’t try to improve at the position. They’re your leading playmaker! If you have a guy who is good for a Pro Bowl every few years then you are almost certain to win the close

ahhhh okay, that makes sense.

Re:Bring/Take swapping:

it’s the version of the yellow line that represents the line of scrimmage

I can actually see it being helpful for the SkyCam view—unless the camera could track the players perfectly, as it does in Madden, then there are necessarily going to be times where perspective is distorted with regards to the first down marker, and this feels like a way to add some context to make it easier to pick

+1 nose touch

Saw someone on Twitter last night saying he’s basically “tech-bro Lavar Ball” and I can’t think of a more apt description.

when the geniuses could have stuck to something more straight-forward and profitable like television and radio did.
