I feel like it didn’t really ignore it that much. Tony doesn’t end that movie saying “I’m done with Iron Man.” He destroys it as a symbol of being done with his obsession of making himself safe. We see what he moves on to: trying to replace himself entirely, creating Ultron.

Which makes it weirder that he has done nothing.

I don’t doubt that it’s going to have a monster opening weekend. But even if it is good enough to encourage a lot of repeat viewings, it only has three weekends before Deadpool 2 completely cuts off its legs.

I don’t actually expect IW to beat Black Panther, TBH. That might be the peak.

Even AVC’s reviews were really weird. Zack pretty much took everything in stride reviewing TNG and DS9, and then tore apart Discovery with a million nitpicks- several of which were actually factually wrong- and then would give the episode a B.
