Young unknowns like Joel Hodgson. I hear he's got his own Netflix thing going on now!

Lots of teams have been good. Only one of them has been 16-0 in the regular season good. That's what Wonder Woman is. I will absolutely go to bat to say that no Marvel movie has been as wonderful and affecting to me as Wonder Woman- up until the point definitely wasn't.

It's more like the Patriots' 2007 season. Yeah, they managed to have an incredible season and all the way through the post-season up until the Super Bowl, but everyone also remembers them failing to win in the end and are going to point that out. No one put the same emphasis on the season of a team that just does well

But the movies up until that point weren't any better than that point. The problem with Wonder Woman is that it had fooled me into actually expecting better from the movie.

I actually can't name a Marvel movie where I feel like the last third was so wildly different and bad compared to the otherwise supremely excellent first 2/3. Please list them. Sure, some of them end on big explosion battles but it's never a jarring transition into "Now we start the required big explosion battle."

This is one of those things where I'm horribly conflicted between "Squirrel Girl shouldn't be that hot" and "But I want to look at Milana Vayntrub quite a lot"

There's even a slight chance it'll top the first Raimi Spider-Man to be the highest grossing superhero origin movie ever.

Masturbated.

There's been 5 superhero movies this year and every one of them has been good. It's bizarre. In fact, I'm thinking GotG2 is going to be the worst MCU movie this year, after watching Homecoming, and I really enjoyed that movie.

The sequels to the original constitute a full circle. All sequels are prequels are sequels. It's pretty cool as long as you can look past the increasingly B-movie grade everything, but especially the monkey masks.

I was wondering if Bechdel Cast was at all worthwhile because I'm into the idea of a feminist movie critic podcast but using the Bechdel-Wallace Test as a jumping off point largely misses the point of the test and so doesn't really get my hopes up for the rest of it. I'd totally listen to Alison Bechdel talk about

It looks fine. If I enjoyed horror movies, I think I'd be really into it.

I disagree. I think that aspect is just usually not pushed enough. Of all the Justice League, she SHOULD be the one who is most okay with killing. Whose values include "justice at any price". I'm not really a fan of the DCAU characterization that Gal Gadot claimed that Wonder Woman is the "heart" of the team. No she

Yeah, drawing Cap's character arc from Boy Scout soldier in WW2 to anti-authority rebel in Civil War is one of the best things in the MCU and one of the most consistent characterizations in the entire franchise. Tony Stark has been wildly variant, I feel, but Steve Rogers is a rock. He's never compromised his view on

Yeah, they weren't sure if they were going to get another season, so they made that episode as the last episode of the entire DCAU. Then they got another season, which is kind of shows they didn't really plan to have another season of JLU, but it's super fun anyway.

Yeah, as disappointed as I am that Waller is dead in the Arrowverse, I'm not really that upset that THAT version of Waller is dead. I'm fine with Lyla as replacement Waller.

A) Greg Berlanti is attached to be making a non-DCEU Booster Gold movie, but who knows if that'll leave dev hell.

And in the meanwhile, he made two other movies instead of Ant-Man. He had 8 years from when Marvel hired him to when he left and as late as 2012, Marvel was still willing to not even have it be part of the MCU. He could've made that movie. He didn't. I'm not saying Disney was right to mess with it to the point that he

Or, judging by literally all of Wright's movies, somewhere in between.

A year ago, I was really hyped about the new Spider-Man because he was really good in Civil War and the casting has been great and now that it's out I care about Thor and Black Panther way more but I guess I'll go see it also.
