It's not terribly surprising. Capitalism is built on the principle that you have to spend money to make money and it's better to spend someone else's money to do it. Getting into the position that you can just spend taxpayers' money to do it is the best solution of all.

What rough beast, its hour come round at last, slouches toward Houston?

LoT may win the award for most improved TV show from one season to the next. The first season was aggressively, infuriatingly terrible nonsense. The second season was giddy, over the top superhero fun.

So much of the first season's problem was Vandal Savage. Not just that he was poorly written and miscast, but the fact that they never just kidnapped the dick and tossed him into the sun. I get that they need magical macguffin nonsense to 'kill' him but I feel like that would've been an acceptable solution!

Ugh. That means you also missed out on the nonstop entertainment of the Legion of Doom on Legends of Tomorrow. That show was way, way better this season than it had any right to be,

Legit the best season since season 2, maybe even better. Super focused, great characters, the flashbacks are relevant and fun, definitely the best villain(s) since Slade. It's great.

But Arrow is really, really friggin good right now.

BRING GOLDEN GLIDER BACK TO THE FLASH

That's why it would be on GJ,I!

Wait, Halo was inducted before Half-Life?

Yeah, I think, if anything, Civil War showed that the MCU people can take the core of a comic storyline that didn't really work and turn it into something that totally does. I still have hope.

Fox can keep X-Men. Marvel should get FF back, though.

Yeah, I'd say if anything about this movie is actually a problem, it's that they needed to build up Thanos a bit more and they just didn't take the opportunity. Which, on the one hand, is probably better for the movie itself to be disconnected from that except for, possibly, maneuvering Nebula into a place where she

In the comics, Thanos's goal is to get the Infinity Gauntlet & Stones and use it to kill so many people that Lady Death will fall in love with him.

Well, consider that Strange was able to beat Dormammu only with the help of an Infinity Stone and that Thanos's goal is to obtain that very stone, along with the other 5. I suppose that's the threat of Thanos: ultimate macguffin power.

Nah. If he needed worshipers, he would've had worshipers. He seems to have been pretty content with only Mantis around. He just wanted to be everything because he found the universe without him everywhere too boring.

My final assessment is that it wasn't as good as the first but absolutely didn't need to be. It was a blast that had me cackling from fun the entire time. There was a point near the end where I almost passed out from laughing with glee and my friend thought I was dying.

I kind of miss playing LOTRO. It was definitely an MMO that loved its lore, even if it isn't particularly remarkable game-wise. I just got back into SWTOR this weekend, which is also a MMO I've drifted in and out of because it offers me a nice universe to play in and good stories sometimes.

I'd mostly have comments on Caroline Munro that aren't fit for print.

That worked for me as a sort of parody of the sort of action set pieces that often begin Marvel movies. You don't get to watch the fight, just the periphery of the carnage. And they got the dancing Baby Groot out of their system early so the movie wouldn't have to deal with it.
