Richard is a villain, Steven's a gross fuckup.

BEARS FOR TRUMP 2016

Eh I didn't think Deegs was all that interesting. But taking this "next generation" idea and running with it — a WHAS series that takes place in a new camp with a new cast and starts off fairly grounded, but then Ken Marino appears to a camper in his bed at night in a fashion that mimics the BvS Flash scene.. and then

I guess it makes sense that they didn't really devote to much time to new campers, but it was kindof weird since the last season featured kids in a story arc and the only bit to revolve around the children this time was the Deegs storyline. The show didn't feel as overstuffed with characters as the previous reviews

I tried the Chik-Fil-A sauce once and didn't think it was anything to write home about. I'll never get it again lol. I prefer the Polynesian for chicken and the honey mustard for my waffle fries.

My favorite Wu-related songs:

I really enjoyed this episode. Definitely rewarding to see storylines coming to a head, really good stuff in this one with Bad Coop and Dougie. And the James Hurley retread of "You and I" was icing on the cake, my girlfriend and I have been joking about that being the song everytime it cuts to the Roadhouse and it

BINGO. The choice of words matters and makes a HUGE difference to my reaction to this piece. I get that plenty of other people might still be bitching about it, but for me, I can't stand that sort of extremist, hyperbolic nonsense.

I get that part of it. The part that I am struggling with is the logical leap thats made to labeling it anti-trans propaganda. Propaganda is written with a clear intent and purpose. An SNL skit that happens to inspire those feelings is a bit less thought out, no? Therein lies my beef. And there may also be something

Frankly I'm a little disappointed, because I read it that way too and dying inside is so passe.

My only problem is how fucking insanely red Hoff looks compared to everyone else. They should've tweaked him in post. It just sticks out a lot for some reason, everyone else fits into the retro vibe but he looks noticeably bad.

Agreed! :)

I can only think of 2 or 3 transgender roles I recall succinctly, and they're all more recent (early to late oughts):

You know its a tricky term because I feel like its become one of those toothless, right-wing go-to's like "snowflake", but I do think there's some legitimacy to the term. I see it in Facebook too much. Too many people jump out to show off how progressive and wonderful they are, but really they don't do jack shit for

Eh that sounds like pandering to the crowd and that makes it even worse to me. When people make mountains out of molehills you invite the "professional victim" criticism, and I don't think I support either side of that debacle.

Too TERF; Didn't Read

I don't think I'd be commenting on this article if when mentioning Pat she hadn't labeled it "anti-trans propaganda that was handed out for years". It really makes the criticism a lot harder to swallow when couched in that much hyperbole.

The Ace Ventura character definitely seems like a better example to hang a hat on. That was explicitly a trans character who was the butt of jokes.

I think we're also missing the wider context of this conversation. We're getting a fairly sensationalized quote and not a broader view. Jill's quote looks much worse than the others removed from context because I think its not clear how the Pat skit relates to trans individuals. @bashbash99:disqus did a good job

I think you just put it into better terms than Jill did (though of course I don't have the full context of the discussion, just the blurbs provided here and at the source article). I think if you walk through the unintentional fallout and harm caused by that character, the criticism makes more sense. Its still
