I know. :( I tweeted her once for advice on to clean blood from suede and made a joke about how the person asking was a Jez reader and not a murderer and her response made me laugh.

She's been really nice to me on twitter, too. But she's mentioned a few places that she vastly prefers Deadspin commenters to Jez commenters. :( In fact she even told me in a tweet once that she would rather deal with a murderer than a Jezebel commenter. She was joking, obviously, but not entirely...

They talk about it now in voire dire actually. A lot of prosecutors will ask if the potential jurors understand the difference between real and fictional evidence gathering and will seek to strike potential jurors that don't. It's an interesting twist.

What lay people seem to inherently misunderstand about the justice system is this: testimony is evidence. "There is no proof." Yes, yes there is. There is also "contrary proof," i.e., Cosby's testimony. But, in weighing the evidence, one seems more credible to me.

My husband's fantasy team (or one of, rather) gets in SO MANY FIGHTS. It's just four guys, I think, but holy shit. The fact that they are a bunch of attorneys probably plays into it, but they bicker over everything. I know there's a fight going on because husband's email is hooked up to our iPad it it starts dinging…

I think she was around a bit before then... I actually liked that piece personally and said so but yeah she got some hard comments. Plus the original booty queen piece did not go over well at all. So yeah, she's faced tough criticism in a short time. But she oddly seems more defensive of other people's pieces than her…

Ha. I don't think she "hates us" but she has mentioned, on many occasions, that she much prefers to write over to Deadspin than to us. Makes me sad, too! But she replies to my cleaning requests on twitter so its all good.

Do you follow her twitter? I mean, I don't really care if she likes us, and I like her writing enough. But she talks a lot of shit about the commenters, actually. It just strikes me as weird. I feel like I'd want them to like me? You may not have noticed, but I am certainly not the only one who has.

She HATES us. It is so weird and apparent in every comment she writes. There have been a few Jez authors with tough relationships with the commenters but no one else hates us quite like Jia (dare I say, not even Jolie Kerr).

I think most attorneys would tell you they don't want jurors to understand the nuance of law, which is why people often don't select lawyers as jurors.

I do Toys for Tots every year and I always volunteer to be the buyer. Like, collect money from our little group of 10 and go and buy the gifts. It is SO FUN. In fact I have a box of gifts in my office right now to take over. But it was $200, not $15k. That would be so amazing.
