Not if you live in Florida!

I love making them. I also made them for my dog, soooo...

My first reaction to this story was "Pffft that's why I make my own costumes."

In most states, including Texas, a private employer can fire you for almost any reason or no reason at all. I think you are right, though. They fired him because he is a massive douche.

Serious question: What if she had an "Egypt" party or maybe any other African country, and people wore the traditional garb. No face painting. Racist? I feel like no. But then again I know that people dressing as Gheshas can be problematic for some people. Maybe it is an appropriation issue?

I only recently told my first IRL friend about mine, and it was over chat. I am almost 30. It is tough. You'll get there; you don't have to force it. Everyone works on their own time.

I don't think anyone is pretending. There is no love for Edwards round these parts.

When I look back and read diary entries or notes from myself at that age, I just cringe. Middle schoolers are hateful mother fuckers.

Apparently Disney calls all workers "cast members" at all times. I learned that this weekend when we were my friend's father, an IT guy aka "cast member" who never wears costumes.

Best response ever.

Wow. The comments on that article sure are telling. And people still argue Republicans aren't racist? Come the fuck on.

I just carry face cleansing cloths to use before I run. :)

I don't think there is anything wrong with your method, but in terms of what you "may" be missing out on, there are studies that show a greater wage gap for women who don't "conform." How annoying is that? Just another thing to worry about.

I <3 you Ari. You are so damn patient.

My make up takes me ten minutes, tops. Unless I'm trying to do something fun.

Speaking of bffs, I actually just gave myself a manicure, pedicure, and facial last night for the sole purpose of being a bridesmaid this next weekend, haha.

No I DO do it for other people. I mean I know they don't care. But I also know that when I don't wear make up to work, every single one of the assistants (who are generally 20-30 years older than me and treat me like a daughter) asks me if I'm sick or tired or whatever. And I dress nicely for the same reason. And I

Yeah not wearing make up when you are sick is the best move.

I mean, I know they wouldn't shun me. But I don't think that knowing I wouldn't be shunned means that I wear make up "for me." I still think I primarily do it for them, if that makes sense.

I mean, I get where you are coming from. And I know that you are right. But make up is one of those things that just doesn't bother me to do. I think I would be disingenuous to say "I do it for me!" but I also don't really care that I do it for others, or because society has taught me to do it.
