Nope, I couldn't tell you anything about my co-worker's dress habits either.

I don't know why I care, but I do.

Yeah he couldn't really care less. I'm usually bumming around on the weekend, but I just like to look nice for him, you know? So that is what I do. I feel like I would be disingenuous to say it was just "for me."

Yeah pretty much. I mean I KNOW that no one would actually judge me or him for it (or at least, none of our friends) but I still think about it.

How awful would it be to be Gisele's twin sister? I already have enough problems with comparing myself to others. :)

I think that is kind of what I was trying to get at. Like, I "do it for me" in the same way I show up to work and try to work hard every day. Because it is expected of me. Because if I had my way, I'd just dick around. But that just isn't what you do.

Yes! This is exactly what I'm talking about. I do the same sorts of things.

I guess that is part of it for me as well. But I don't feel like it is "for me." I feel like I do it because it is expected of me, but I'm ok with that.

HA! Yes I love new make up. But the newness wears off pretty quickly and I'm back to just going with societal norms.

When I buy new make up, I like to play around with it. But it definitely loses its fun pretty shortly!

I don't really wear make up on the weekends except when we go out. But it isn't "for" me; it is because I don't want people to judge me or my husband (for marrying me) I guess.

I definitely do it more for the women I work with than the men. I don't want those ladies to judge me!

Right! Context... is important.

The worst part about moving to Florida is the lack of winter excuses for not shaving.

I love the whole sentiment of "it's not about you." But, does anyone here actually wear make up FOR someone else? Like I have to be honest, most of my make up wearing and clothes buying is for my husband and/or my work colleagues. I like looking nice, but honestly most weekend days I put in the effort for him. And

This may get deleted as irrelevant, but GUYS, I just found where the star is on the new Kinja. I can finally star articles I like again. PHEW.

I had the same reaction to that article! We picked up the BA in the airport for something to read and I wasall "Ugh, why can't we throw parties like that."

Squeeeeeeeeeee

I certainly wouldn't use it as a daily thing, but if I took my kids to like Disney World? I would consider it useful. Or the airport. Fucking airports, man.

I just don't think this is all that weird. It doesn't seem all that different than running with an ID in case you get hurt. I don't know...
