She talked about how her husband had Covid, and her 92-year-old father, who she thought might not survive, and she laid it out: because Donald Trump did nothing, and his incompetence made it worse.

You think she brought a weapon of any capacity? Doubtful. She showed up with a strongly worded tweet, and then maybe she'll even sarcastically clap once Barrett is confirmed. But NYT will write a glowing profile, and she'll raise a bunch of money from it, so I guess she gets hers.
Senator Amy Klobuchar delivered a firm blow against the Republican Party
For real- the man was so unnecessarily cruel- it’s one thing to keep a low profile and hold a grudge, but he was Neville’s boggart. The kid literally lost his parents to insanity by Death Eaters and endured crippling low self esteem, but it’s SNAPE who represents his biggest fear. I think it says a lot :/
IDK, his actions toward Neville and even Hermione that one time she was hexed so badly that her front teeth became massive and he said something to the effect of “I see no difference” sort of goes beyond strict teacher into cruel asshole territory. I’m sure there are other examples but the lengths to which these Snape…
Perhaps to illustrate the fact that children may see things from a different light when they grow up - not every person you meet in life that you dislike at first, deserves that dislike - and the ability to allow yourself to adjust your perceptions (when justified) is a sign of growing into an adult. I never saw…
I still think that Slughorn in the 6th movie was probably some of the best casting of the entire film franchise.
Yeah, in 2001 Rickman was about 25 years older than the character he was portraying, which is probably why all the other Marauder era characters had to be aged up as well. Rickman is great but the age factor and inherent sexiness of his tenor just isn’t Snape to me.
Sometimes I remember that Snape was supposed to be about 31 in the first book and this just does not mesh with my worldview.
THANK you. I love Rickman but he wasn’t right as Snape. He also wasn’t the age that Harry’s parents would have been if they survived and that always bothered me.
So true. I also think Lupin was severely miscast but I am biased against that actor in general (couldn’t stand him in Wonder Woman either).
It is true that Rickman made him SO much more likable than he was ever meant to be. Without the movies you likely would not have as many women creepily fawning over Snape.
Yeah, they needed better casting on the adult actors just in general.
To this day I don’t know what I think about Oldman’s Sirius.
I always questioned Harry ending up with anyone after the amount of PTSD he would have come out of the books with. He actually died ffs. That has got to mess you up.
Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves era Rickman would have been great as Sirius though, no disrespect to Gary Oldman of course.
I honestly cannot imagine an actor making that kind of choice between the two options. “Let’s see...CGI heavy remake of a 40 year-old movie that was admittedly pretty cheesy, or seven-picture role in the biggest literary sensation in decades...
I knew the fandom was nuts when Harry/Hermione shippers got so mad about Harry and Ginny getting together in HBP that they rewrote the entire book to be Harry/Hermione compliant. I was 14 and completely shook.
Given her high Kareness’s views on gender rigidity, that would not surprise me at all.
I have to say that Ricman’s Snape, especially int he first movie, has a heavy foppish nature to him. He’s like Cruise’s Lestat in that he’s intensely cruel but very charismatic, and definitely showing some femininity in gestures and the way they work the garments. The movies also sort of imply that Snape is bullied…
