Yeah, Jennifer Aniston used her platform for a good cause. Why does Joan have a problem with that?

The “average rom-com” remark was trademark mean-girl affectation. It has nothing to do with anything else in the article. If Aniston were an above-average rom-com star, would it validate her concern about Kanye?

But on the same hand, Aniston’s initial plea also reveals that celebrities like her watch far too much MSNBC, in turn, morphing average rom-com stars like her into bona fide heroes in their imagined “resistance.”

You had me at "...Ian....shut the fuck up."

YUUUUUPPPP. The whole “lesser of two evils” BS holds a lot less weight when your kid is in a cage, or your house is on fire because of climate change, or your father died from COVID (as mine did in April). And if someone doesn’t like it, I don’t really give a shit - just because you’re privileged enough to whine about

Feel free to elaborate.

Why?

Thank you. You articulated incredibly well what I was feeling but couldn’t put into words.

I’m doing that emote where all the flowers come out over the villager's head. Agreed with all of this.

I created an account just to star this comment.

Look...Ian...I mean this in the nicest way possible, and I say this as a fellow progressive who has tried to get people to vote for Bernie twice in a row, and this isn’t directed at you specifically but at the group you are currently representing with this article...but please, shut the fuck up.

She talked about how her husband had Covid, and her 92-year-old father, who she thought might not survive, and she laid it out: because Donald Trump did nothing, and his incompetence made it worse.

You think she brought a weapon of any capacity? Doubtful. She showed up with a strongly worded tweet, and then maybe she'll even sarcastically clap once Barrett is confirmed. But NYT will write a glowing profile, and she'll raise a bunch of money from it, so I guess she gets hers.

Senator Amy Klobuchar delivered a firm blow against the Republican Party

I still think that Slughorn in the 6th movie was probably some of the best casting of the entire film franchise.

Yeah, in 2001 Rickman was about 25 years older than the character he was portraying, which is probably why all the other Marauder era characters had to be aged up as well. Rickman is great but the age factor and inherent sexiness of his tenor just isn’t Snape to me.

Sometimes I remember that Snape was supposed to be about 31 in the first book and this just does not mesh with my worldview.

THANK you. I love Rickman but he wasn’t right as Snape. He also wasn’t the age that Harry’s parents would have been if they survived and that always bothered me.

So true. I also think Lupin was severely miscast but I am biased against that actor in general (couldn’t stand him in Wonder Woman either).

It is true that Rickman made him SO much more likable than he was ever meant to be. Without the movies you likely would not have as many women creepily fawning over Snape.
