Let’s say this is the most brilliant movie ever made.  Does it make up for Sandler’s racism and homophobia?  Or even Jack & Jill?

It’s definitely a question of pacing.  As far as FFVII and VI go, I’m usually not a fan of games that let you make anyone into anything.  If you can do that, then everyone is essentially nothing.  In that respect, the Zodiac system of FFXII was absolutely inspired.  Gambits might be the smartest thing the series has…

The battle system is amazing...when you finally hit the 30 hour mark.  Not the best design there.

Does anything meaningful need to be said?  I couldn’t stand the plot and characters.  Entertainment is 100% subjective.  If some people liked Snow and Hope and Vanille that’s fine, but it’s not something I could ever agree with.

This game is indefensible, but so be it. A certain subset of people seem to love it. More power to them.

This still looks awful IMO. 

Best art design, best music, best story, best localization.  One of the all-time greats.

I’d really love to try Lightning Returns, but FFXIII left such a bad taste in my mouth, I just can’t work up the temerity to play the sequels.  Guess that’s just the way it goes sometimes.

I’ll give Sony the benefit of the doubt on this one.  It’s highly unlikely that the execs in charge had ever seen any of the original works.  Seems like they took the video down quickly, too.

How did any of you get far enough to even encounter spoilers?  This is the dullest, most soul-draining experience I’ve ever had.  Worse than high school by a country mile.
