One of my favourite details in the 2005 movie is how Mary tried to impress Mr. Collins - he was just passing by when Mr. Bennet removed her from the pianoforte at the Netherfield Ball, and later in the scene she’s crying. I’m sorry no one pushed for Mary in the book.
