Mostly it was just the timing of the article that also struck me as mean-spirited. There's absolutely no reason to publish this in a week when McCartney has a reissue out, other than if you're a McCartney hater and want to attack him. It's not like anyone would ever argue this movie was anything but a failed project.

Yes, and Ram not only covered that ground first, it did so in a far more compelling way.

I'm not going to defend her. But good people talk themselves into bad marriages ALL the time. It's your reductive approach to analyzing the private lives of people you don't know that I find silly.

Bad judge of character? He also picked John Lennon, George Harrison, Nigel Godrich, Killing Youth, Elvis Costello to work with, among many others. Sheesh. You've never dated anyone who turned out to be different from who you thought he/she was? He rushed into a bad second marriage on the heels of mourning his wife. It

My Brave Face is a great track, and so is This One and You Want Her Too. I think Flowers in the Dirt has its share of misses (like a typical Macca 80's album) but those 3 are terrific.

No, that would be George Harrison's Shanghai Surprise.

Really? Where did you read that?

I wish Guralnick would take on the Beatles. Maybe we'd finally get a decent, fair, exhaustively research bio — similar in quality to his Elvis books.

Keep it up with the Hitler comparisons. Cuz that always makes sense in the context of pop music.
