Nice.
Nice.
Nice.
Yeah I call BS on that, the laws protect you from this type of behaviour and Valve would open themselves up for all kinds of legal trouble if they charged more than what was intended. So either you’re lying or you’re leaving some details out.
In my headcanon, I am imagining Gabe Newell personally seeing that post, and adding that point himself, without anyone else at Valve involed.
Nice!
Because he is criminally insane. Basically, so mentally ill that we as a society have determined that he lacked the intent to commit the crimes. That doesn’t mean he can be free, because of the impact to public safety. It just mean he lacked the mens rea to be found guilty of the crimes, and lacks the mental capacity…
because his lawyer said he was “not of sound mind”
I mean...they could have given him the old spike through the eye...hear that calms people down right quick.
Wouldn’t the draconian solution have been to put him in a normal prison?
I don't think autism is what made him do crime. Other things he has may he treatable.
Pretty much. The idea that “it’s just hacking” is short-sighted and foolish when we live in a society where connected systems can literally be life-or-death affairs. Yeah, this time he hacked R* this time - but what if it had been a hospital? If he’s not capable of remorse and exhibited violence in custody, he’s a…
Dude what?? Hacking has potentially devastating consequences. It should not be a slap on the wrist crime.
Hacking is a dangerous crime. It can do material harm
Did you not read the article, or did you just read the headline and come to comment. This was more than just “hacking” as there appears to be allegations of extortion. The suspect has full on admitted he wants to reoffend, and will more than likely reoffend any chance he gets. How in the world, would house arrest…
He’s technically not being punished, he’s being treated. Ideally, at some point he’ll be able to manage his condition so that he’s no longer inclined to crime.
Eh...maybe.
I can’t even watch that video once. Is YouTube broken for anyone else, or just me? It pauses every 3 seconds.
Anyone who thinks killing the ultra wealthy is too harsh is entitled to their opinion. However, they should watch this video three times in a row and see if they’ve changed their mind.
No, I’m pretty sure we could solve a large number of issues if we parked a guillotine outside of every gated community.
Everyone says this, but the moment I suggest dragging billionaires into the streets for public executions, suddenly *I* ruined Thanksgiving dinner.
