Also, one of the ways to save money on ingredients is to buy in bulk. But that’s a lot of upfront money and additional prep time and if it is say a large quantity of meat you need storage area. Not easy for a lot of people.

But things like frozen chicken patties and prepared meals are often much cheaper than buying ingredients. For example, compare the cost of making a boxed mac and cheese vs. making it from scratch.

But what happens in class is that kids try to do “tricks” with them, drop them (sometimes breaking them and having ball bearings rolling around the room) and otherwise cause everyone else to get distracted. If they were discreet fidget tools they wouldn’t be a problem.
