The thing to keep in mind is that it’s not on you. You made the right choice for your betterment. Sure it sucks, but it’s better overall for you. It’s up to them to make the choice to be a better person and try to reverse that decision.

I’m really sorry to hear that. I started making the effort to change the relationship while I was in college and he was in high school, and that was difficult. I can only imagine how difficult it would be with 30+ years of mistreatment.

This is so important, truthfully. I bullied my younger brother when we were growing up, and it took YEARS of dedicated effort on my part to fix the relationship.
