I only played the co-op demo with four people and I was very shocked at how good of a time I was having! Your review doesn’t surprise me at all in that sense...I’m not sure why they led their media rollout with the soccer portion of the game.

I am also in a very fortunate position of having “unlimited PTO”, which is really just cool-boss-lingo for “we don’t track that stuff, do your work and we’ll treat you like an adult.”
I read Gawker does a thing where the top stories by traffic are displayed on a monitor? If so, any stories about that?
After narrowly escaping a gang related death in GTA: Vice City, I walked down some stairs and took like 2% fall damage off the last step, which killed me. I’ve never forgiven Rockstar and I think it has irrationally fed into me scarcely playing their games since.
I love this video and your narrative Heather! Thanks to you and the team for putting this together.
The only reservation I have to this concept is that the system need be powerful enough to receive ports. It just has to be. Please?
Apparently the only thing we had been waiting for longer than Half Life 3 was the Half Life 2 Kotaku review.
Even though its formulaic, I still really really enjoy the first championship edition game, and play it fairly often! I think Pacman et al has held up the best of all the classic coin up games for me.
Whoa! Out of sheer randomness I started playing Act 3 LAST NIGHT because I realized I never finished it. I think subconsciously I just never wanted it to end.
Funny how it suddenly became a priority after Overwatch released!
Overwatch’s success is forcing Valve to finally (FINALLY) act on overwhelmingly antiquated issues with TF2, so I’m happy on THAT front.
So like, I get that Miyomoto is easy to blame (and partially the culprit) for these sorts of overarching decisions you and a loud minority of people always post about. But it’s a hackneyed and kneejerk response to blame him for all these design iterations. (I don’t mean to single you out, but I read these comments all…
Look for “tegotae” to be the new quote attached to every single Facebook Miyomoto graphic for years to come.
In defense of Mario & Luigi:
Besides the obvious stuff, I just wish there was a Sonic game that was a platformer instead of an obstacle course. Yes, that means Colors and Generations too.
Kotaku Splitscreen: The “ehhh, I dunno” edition.
I’ve actually have never even heard of Mekazoo somehow - but the gameplay looks like it has a ton more in common with the Donkey Kong Country Returns series than Sonic the Hedgehog in every way but the character models.
If I recall correctly, the Nintendo reps rebooted the demo by pressing. R and + (I think?), or some similar, simple button hold. This brought up a pc like, small menu where they selected the next demo. Would seem a bit obvious, but there were a LOT of kiosks, and they were unmanned for chunks at a time while they…
What was it like not playing Mario Maker for a week, Patrick?
