Paying to use the HOV lane is a pretty new concept in California. Most of the legacy HOV lanes do not have the toll readers.
Paying to use the HOV lane is a pretty new concept in California. Most of the legacy HOV lanes do not have the toll readers.
No, just that I have only ever seen them installed for the purpose of toll-enforcement. I wasn’t living in Southern California (maybe not even alive) when they installed the HOV lanes down there, so it is possible down there they have non-tolled versions of them for safety, like they do in places like Toronto (where…
Yeah, I seem to remember 101 having walled-off HOV lanes in LA, but I wasn’t sure if it was because they allowed paid travel in the HOV lanes. In the Bay Area, I never saw any double-yellow HOV lanes until they built a stretch which gave drivers the option of tolls.
You are the one who is posting something easily disproved.
That is not the primary reason for the double yellow line, at least in the Bay Area. You only see those in carpool lanes with tolls up here. The reason they exist is because the Fastrak readers are only at certain points on the road. The HOV lanes without tolls do not have double-yellows.
If you rear end someone because you fail to keep a safe following distance, then you are generally at-fault for the collision; however, this is not what occurred here. The vehicle occupying a lane has the right of way. If you violate someone’s right of way and a collision occurs, you are generally at fault.
He’s a terrible politician and has harmed both Israeli and Arab interests, but he is a very smart and capable individual with an impressive military resume.
For me, I tend to look at the bigger picture. Being a Nazi is very objectionable in modern American society for what I think are very good reasons. It was not long ago that blacks, Jews, homosexuals, and others were greatly mistreated in our society. That is why congress had to pass an act protecting the civil rights…
That is an ad hominem. If the gym can kick someone out for being a Nazi, they can kick someone out for any political belief or party affiliation. Some States ban political discrimination, although the issue comes up mostly in employment. It is not as common in customer service since most businesses have an economic…
You can kick someone out for being liberal in many States. Only certain States define political beliefs as a protected class.
Political beliefs are a protected class in California. I do not know if the protection extends to business patrons, but it is probably illegal to fire someone for being a Nazi. Although, I imagine that the type of person who becomes a Nazi is probably the type of person who does something at work that is not…
I think it brings up a valid point though. In California, political affiliation (and that would presumably include membership in the Nazi party, or whatever they are calling themselves these days) is a protected class in employment. I’m not sure whether it is legal to kick out a customer for their political beliefs,…
In college, I bought an HP-50g to replace my TI-86. I tried the TI-89, but really did not like it. I got my hands on the HP-50g a few weeks before it was widely available in most major retailers by ordering it off this guy’s website.
Turns out the HP 48 was far better, but nobody in high school had one, so I had no idea HP calculators even existed until college.
Why do you say that? I had a to-86, which was basically just a ti-85 with a nicer chassis and more RAM. Everyone else had ti-83s, but they lacked a lot of the calculus functions and other advanced math features and had lower resolution screens. The ti-86 also had hp-48 style menus, which were way better.
I understand the sentiment, but I do not think that the outcome would be to your liking. If you look historically, the more barriers there are to voting, the lower the turnout, and the better conservatives do.
You can be a generally stupid person while still being good at one thing. I mean, we have athletes that are absolutely fantastic at a particular sport who can barely string two thoughts together. Trump is very good at selling his brand and scamming people, but I don’t that is a sufficient condition for not being…
Yes, but it is May already. In a few months, they are going to have to start thinking about campaigning again, and the numbers are not looking good for the Republicans. If they continue on this trajectory, they will almost certainly lose the House and lose ground in the Senate. If they fail to get much of substance…
Donald Trump has a grasp of a tiny, tiny fraction of human knowledge. Heck, Steven Hawking is about as equally ignorant as Trump in the grand scheme of things.
Oh, he understands exactly what he was saying. He means that we gave it to the Russian government and not some plumber on the Moscow Metro. What he avoids is all the reasons why giving the Russian government this particular information is foolhardy and hurts the US.
